Bringing People Together Through Music

Live Reviews

Ringo Starr Live Thoughts

It’s bee n a few weeks now, but we had to deal with a little hurricane here in Florida. Then I got sidetracked a bit…

So, no formal review for this show, but I thought I’d throw a few thoughts out on the internet in case you ever find yourself considering capturing the ex-Beatle live.

If you’re wondering, Go! Starr is a living legend, and along with his All-Star band, he delivers an entertaining two-hour show.

  • The All-Star Band is aptly named. And, they’ve been together for years – they’re talented, they’re tight and they have a bunch of their own hits that they share with the crowd.
  • We heard Toto songs from Steve Lukather. Edgar Winter offered a few of his hits and some impressive rapping, and Colin Hay spotlighted some Men at Work songs. Hay looked dapper, and sounded better.
  • Warren Ham was stellar all night. He played everything – at least six different instruments during the show.
  • Surprisingly, Ringo has many more solid songs than I was aware of. Lots of good stuff.
  • Ringo did not play “No-No Song,” “You’re Sixteen” nor “Oh My My.”
  • Ringo looks amazing. He’s 82 and vey fit. Had a huge smile plastered on his face all night, too…
  • Amazingly, I realized during the show that I’ve been throwing the peace sign backwards my entire life.
  • Ringo (and a few others) told plenty of stories. From longtime fans, it sounds like the stories are all rehashed, but they’re truly entertaining for casual fans.

Bottom line: It was a blast. If you find an ex-Beatles drummer in your neighborhood, I strongly recommend you snag a ticket.
