Niv Snaggletooth Covers Los Lobos with New Single ‘Will the Wolf Survive?’
New Track Drops April 17th | 2026 New Moon Aries to Taurus
Welcome Ghouls, Demons, and Fellow Wyrd Ones! This Dark Moon, We are planting another Venusian Seed! A seed planted by the hands of our Libran Man, Niv Snaggletooth! As this lunar transit initiates a spark of creativity in Aries, with a lovely handoff to the embodiment of Taurus. I love the synastry with the Libra and Taurus essence harmonizing in true Venus Fashion. I find the overall character arch within the Life of Niv to be beautifully in alignment. And this is only intuitively based off his Sun Sign, his intentional story I will be sharing below, and the Soul felt within the Exclusive listening experience of his New Single. I will admit to my ignorance of this song. I was slightly shocked to discover it was a cover of a 1984 release from Los Lobos. I had missed that memo when I connected with Niv to cover this release. (LOL) With that, I unknowingly signed up for the Musical Adventure of a lifetime.

If I am to know what the fuck I am talking about? I must do my due diligence. (Hey, I am only 30 (Flirty & Thriving) I can only know so much as this Life Level. Give me some Grace!) SO! Not only did I experience “Will the Wolf Survive” through the creative lens of Niv Snaggletooth, but Los Lobos, and Waylon Jennings! What a sweet treat for me. A true push off my rocker and out of my comfort zone. To be clear, all of this is said with so much love and humor. I am connected to Niv through the Black Metal Community. The last thing I expected was to be going down a COUNTRY rabbit hole. IYKYK. I LOATHE country music. Yes, I live in Nashville. Yes, I chose to move here with Intention. Yes, I am aware that I am willingly choosing a Living Hell for myself. Same for my dearest hubby. Suffering together, and individually, in varied ways. My Dearest Husband has led me down the Country Music Isle. Presenting me with a passion for all genres. A True Judge of the Muse. I respect his taste. I have witnessed, felt and transcended into an understanding, a heartfelt appreciation for these genres, artists and other worlds. Worlds that really give me the ick. I suppose, Chad has shown me how music can unite one another.

A gift of his Aries Moon in the 12th House? Perhaps… I could bore you all to Death with my adoration for my Beloved. I simply must give flowers, where flowers are due. I cannot take credit for the Power he has granted me through his presence. Therefore, my standard has been curated through the toughest Saturnian filter you can muster. Nashville is FULL of horrific, cringey, basic, gross, annoying and nauseating Country Music I have ever been tortured with. It is mortifying to say the least. I do my damndest to be encouraging. I am sure my Act is quite nose crinkling. I can only detach so much before I am removed from any ounce of Truth. I must be honest with myself and my audience. I have to be clear on my perspective. Am I the best Judge of country music? Absolutely not. I tolerate what my husband plays, and enjoy the handful of Dark, Gothic Country Musicians there are (that do it right). I love the Darker sound of life. You will find a pattern that the Musics I enjoy have some Mysterious Depth and Darkness to them. Somehow. I am particularly persnickety and full of personal prejudice. In these reviews I hope to find a space of myself that is honest, kind, encouraging and harmonizing. We spend too much of our energy dividing with hateful opinions, regardless of their anecdotal justifications. I could only Dream of a World as Diverse as My Beloved Chad’s Music Collection. May we all find appreciation in Worlds Diverse of our Own. May we Share the Culture of Love that Keeps us All Alive. What is Music, if Nothing other than a Love Letter from the Soul to the World.

With all of that being said, I genuinely enjoyed Niv Snaggletooth’s version of “Will the Wolf Survive” more than Los Lobos, and most certainly more than the Waylon Jennings version. The essence, the tone and the melody of this Cover tapped into my Style of Sound. I was blown away by the Depth and the Soul within Niv’s voice. I am not sure what I expected, however, this sound exceeded any possible expectation. There was Excitement. An Adrenaline rush of Inspiration. I felt all the potential and power that could reside within our Snaggletooth Friend. I could envision a Bluesy, Gothic and Deeper undercurrent, awaiting to be awoken. Lingering beneath the surface. I wanted to hear the rasp of his voice. I craved for there to be MORE of whatever it was I was sensing. It was intoxicating and a tease. A true enjoyment. A Country Rock Song I would Pledge my Seal of Approval. I didn’t care for the softness of Los Lobos. Or the stereotypical cliche of Waylon Jennings. And this is not to be a hater to them either. I can see the impact of the song. I feel the initiation of the lyrics. Each artist has their right to exist. If we are asking for my preference? If I am to be the Judge? I am giving my Gold Star to Niv Snaggletooth. If you are a fan of either version of “Will the Wolf Survive?” You will most certainly enjoy this new Version from our Friend of Israel.

As I finally read through all of Niv’s responses, I realized why I had felt the way I had while listening to his song. When I asked in my Rock Oracle Questionnaire, “What Genre would you classify yourself as? Niv Responded, “That’s something I’m still figuring out, and it might be too early to put a definitive label on it.The closest description right now would be that it’s Country music that isn’t meant for a traditional country music audience. The instrumentation is fully acoustic except an electric bass-I play the drums, acoustic guitar, resonator Guitar, banjo and mandolin-but my influences and what I strive for run deeper than that. I come from the underground metal scene, that’s the space I’ll always inhabit, but over the past decade of my life I’ve pushed myself to explore beyond it. There was a time I was certain that only metal can convey darkness, sorrow and resistance, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.” I love the introspection and exploration. It is absolutely vital that we all find ourselves.
I have found the more I push myself outside of my comfort zone, the more freedom I have within myself. Life is much more fun when you diversify yourself. I suppose my bias would be for my fellow love of the Metal Scene/Community. Or perhaps I want him to pull on those darker strings a bit more in his Country Essence. I am not sure what alignment needs to take place, but I can feel Niv on the brink of a huge Creative Epiphany. I cannot wait to Witness more of his Future Music.
What are inspiring artists/musical groups that have influenced your music/art?
Niv- “If I had to name a few key influences, they would be: Days of the New, Nick Cave, GG Allin, David Allan Coe, 16 Horsepower and Mötley Crüe.”
What are your personal favorite works that have done/already released?
Niv- “If I have less than 10 minutes and I really have to knock someone out and impress them, definitely “No Country For Me” and “Will the Wolf Survive?””
What is a brief History of Your Music/Band that you feel is most important to highlight
within this article? Potential fun facts about your music name/pseudonym if applicable.
Niv- “I started composing what would become “No Country For Me” at the end of 2023, teaching myself how to compose music from the ground up. From the beginning this was meant to be a solo project. Before that, during COVID, I had a metal project called Chaöcircuit. It didn’t turn out the way I intended, so I put it on hold with the intention of reviving it at the right time. “Niv” is my actual first name. In Hebrew it translates to “sharp tooth.” Along with the Motörhead back-piece tattoo I have, “Snaggletooth” feels like the right bridge between identity and influence. I promised myself that if this succeeds the way I want it to, I’ll make “Snaggletooth” my middle name.”

What are your goals/dreams/big picture for you and your art?
Niv- “To bring this music to the stage and perform across Europe and the U.S., and to collaborate with like-minded artists such as Sasha Boole and Taneli Jarva, just to name a few. I can see myself as the “not-metal-but-metal-adjacent” act in festivals like Inferno in Norway, I hope to make it happen at some point.”
“What are the core philosophies within your music? And the message(s) you/the band wish your fans/audience to receive?
Niv- “That country music doesn’t have to sound like Morgan Wallen and all that pop crap! It can go beyond surface-level themes and explore darker, more personal territory-loneliness, trauma, heartbreak and sorrow. It can stand against modernity in its own way, just as black metal does. I’m not planning on wearing a cowboy hat or pretending to have a southern accent. That’ll feel derivative, like cosplay. For the same reason a band wearing corpse paint doesn’t indicate they’re any good or that they understand what black metal is about. With the Black/Death metal I’m working on and will release in due time, I’m exploring the usual themes of Darkness, Death, Satanism and Chaos. With this music I’m trying to create a stark contrast and talk about slice-of-life topics that are more human and immediate. Moving between those worlds ain’t easy. Writing about deeply personal, real-life experiences and then shifting back to more abstract themes is a challenge, but it’s one I’ve chosen to take on.”
Niv Added, “A quote by GG Allin that I like, and have used in my Spotify page biography: ‘I’m trying to bring danger back into rock ‘n’ roll, and there are no limits, and no laws, and I break down every barrier put in front of me till the day I die.’“
Are there any other works of yours that you feel would be beneficial to mention or guide
fans/audience members to listen to? Whether for philosophical, political, spiritual or
musical reasonings?
Niv, “I’m just at the beginning of the road, so there’s not a lot I can point to yet, the next EP is already in the works and it’s gonna be a much easier process this time now that I know what I should and shouldn’t do when composing.”
Let me/the audience know about any other gigs you have, such as a day job. Express
whether you plan on keeping your potential day job as a part of your life goals or if you
are trying to leave that world behind for a life of music and/or all the above! Where does
music fit into your life and what are your dreamiest of dreams with it? How do you feel
about having a day job or second career? Is music hobby, a passion or a life-line? Paint a
decent picture to inspire others. Whether it is to pursue your dreams and shoot for the
stars, or to give some peace of mind to those who are juggling multiple gigs, or any of the
above.
Niv- “I currently work at a tech company, which supports me but also limits how much time and energy I can give to music. The cost of living keeps rising, and making a sustainable income from music is harder than ever-but that doesn’t change my direction. Music isn’t a hobby to me, it’s the center of everything. Everything else exists around it. Always shoot for the stars! Slaving away at some shitty job because people with no ambition told you not to pursue what you love is not the way to live life, I’d rather fail and say to myself that I tried than to have not tried at all.” Niv added: “Make sure to follow @m.p.soszynski who is a killer artist from Poland that paints portraits of all the legends from the underground scene. I feel privileged to be included in his gallery.”
I can add that Marek Soszynski is a phenomenal artist! I was granted his Marylin Manson Portrait for my 28th Birthday. Marylin Manson is a Capricorn Sun, Leo Moon, Leo Rising. He is equally a Pisces Venus and Scorpio Mars. That astrology is vital to myself and the synastry within my own energetic systems, as well as my husbands. Fun Fact, Edgar Allan Poe is also a Capricorn Sun, Pisces Venus. Poe and I are both Capricorn Mercuries. The Art piece was a lovely Astrological Gift. As well, For those who know my Social Media and Content, the Large Skull Portrait center our altars? The Ritual Death Portrait? Another piece of @m.p.soszynski. He is most certainly someone worth supporting.
Niv- “As well, Boris Rozenberg is the killer photographer and a veteran metal collector/archivist.” I wish I knew more about the photographer. However, super stoked for another Rabbit Hole. All thanks to Niv Snaggletooth. I appreciate him taking the time to answer my questions and allow me into his heart. It’s been such an honor getting to know him. I hope the Rock Oracle audience finds enjoyment in his words as well. In fact, his answer to his final question, made me blush with Pride. As well, did every response feel heartfelt and intentional. I felt into the magick of his voice and wanted to ensure his responses were more directly presented, rather than interwoven too much as my own. I never wish to steal the voice of another Messenger. I only hope to translate to the collective. And so, I find that Niv has a fabulous voice, not one that needs much translation. Perhaps we simply speak a similar language. Maybe there is an Air Sign energetic Frequency we both have access. Either way, Please enjoy the Voice that is Niv Snaggletooth. I feel the start of a phenomenal artist, especially once he answers the call deep within his soul. “Will the Wolf Survive?” That is up to the Will of the Wolf.
What is your birthday/Zodiac sign?
Niv- “I’m a Libra. People have a severe misunderstanding of what astrology really is about, and I absolutely believe there’s a connection between art and the cosmos.”
Hallelujah!! Amen!! We have a Man, Ladies. A Man who believes in Astrology. A true Ally. (LOL) On that note, May we All Tap In to our Creative Frequencies. Whether through Astrology, or your Personalized Medium of Choice. Astrology is only One of my many Tongues. It is the Tongue in which I have the most fun! I could only hope that you All find your preferred Tongue of Choice.
Live Deliciously. Love Authentically. And Always, Stay Wyrd.
