About the Band:
Freaky Wilderness is Michael Guggino, Aileen Brophy and Christian Rutledge formerly of the Brooklyn based band The Space Merchants. The band channels the fuzzy, chaotic energy of Neil Young and Crazy Horse, the big riffs and hooks of Zeppelin and Sabbath, and the southern fried grooviness of The Band and Little Feat.
Freaky Wilderness released their debut album 12/13/24. Recorded Mixed and Mastered by Michael Guggino (The Space Merchants, Doom Dub, Mount Olympus). 9 tracks of 60s/70s heavy psychedelic rock. The band was recently featured in the film “Feeling Randy” starring Jonathan Silverman and Maguerite Moreau.

Welcome Ghouls, Demons, and Fellow Wyrd Ones!!! What another honor, a true blessing, and a gift I have received. Another musical love letter to share with you all. An expansion of the community that is Rock Oracle, and the work we do every day to “Bring People Together Through Music!” Bringing People Together Through Music… is beautiful work. I am honored to devote my life to this chapter of my life, and however many chapters it chooses to remain. Here at the Full Moon in Sagittarius-Capricorn, we all find ourselves maturing and Coming of Age. We will find ourselves stepping into our next wave of Power, thank you ever so much to the Sun! It’s been a Blessed Solstice Season this 2026. I am happy to be here, and I hope you are too! Every day I LOVE sharing these nuggets of magick with you, and the power of creativity! It is a huge reason I “settled” for an OTA job as a stepping stone here!! (There’s a full circle moment awaiting the soon to publish “Nina Sasaki” article.) Anyways, Occupational Therapy is a creative healing therapy. It’s a practice that requires creativity at the individual level. How to create a life of function, thriving quality within your circumstances? How much power does the individual actually possess? Especially when facing all these adversarial forces, disabilities, poverties, and uncontrollable rolls of the dice? Life is scary. And being a child, who is new to this world is even scarier. Walking in the Dark? Embodying the Power of Free Will? Even more Terrifying. Even worse when facing that darkness all alone. In this Music Video for “Wind Swept World” by Freaky Wilderness you will feel into the depth of such initiation. An initiation to Brave the Unknown. To Open your Heart, and Mind, to something New. To something beautiful. A World We often tell ourselves is “too good, to be true.” A lie we must all release. We must heal from within ourselves.
This Music Video will present simple to the simpletons. Those who have never ripped apart their soul, nor faced the most painful of ego deaths. The Music Video is a Message of Harmony. Of Family, of Joy, and of Play. Hellooooo Jupiter in Leoo. I love this season for us. Just as the World is seemingly falling apart, we are reminded that sometimes it is fun to tear things down. Sometimes it is fun to RAGE! In the most innocent of waves. I thoroughly enjoyed the progression of the video. The themes of the imperfect, shyly awkward, and pure evolution of the children throughout this creative process? Just phenomenal! Where my dearest Gemini, Michael of Freaky Wilderness, is also Bringing People Together Through Music. The World needs more Life. We need to reconnect to our innocence. Our playful frequency of Freedom. To Love, and to Create. To nourish that imagination within the Heart and Mind of a child. Now that is beautiful parenting at play! As a former Occupational Therapist? I am truly proud to see that shift in society. I want to give my greatest professional kudos to the Adults pulling the weight to be parents to themselves, parents to their children, or anyone choosing to be an honorary parent to the World in some capacity. There are so many ways in which we can Pour Wisdom into the Culture as we age. I believe it to be absolutely necessary to Learn from the Past, and break the cycle every chance we get. “Wind Swept World” is an outstanding representation of that work, of that impact. Each and every one of us, slowly chipping away at that Wheel… Until it Breaks!
Am I trying to start a Revolution? Abso-fucking-loutely. And I know I am not alone. Nor am I the first of my kind. Artists have been taking on this work for aeons. I find it more important than ever to highlight these twinkling lights deep within the Abyss. I find it necessary for us to hold the line, to the Faith of a Better World. If we accept Nihilism, and Revoke Whimsy, the mere possibility of a better tomorrow is already lost. However, it is only those who have sat in such Nihilism, and Conquered that wickedness, who could possibly Lead others to the Power of Love, Creativity, and Freedom. We cannot burn each other out. We must light one another up. Otherwise, the darkness will prevail. Which Summer shows us time, and time again, that is not true. The Sun Will Always Rise. The Moon Will Always Shine!
