A Night with Madam Radar at Cannery Hall

June 19th, 2026 Waxing Crescent Leo to Virgo

Introspection From Melinoe:

Welcome Ghouls, Demons, and Fellow Wyrd Ones!! Friday, Juneteenth, the Rock Oracle Tribe was invited out to the Cannery Hall here in Nashville, TN. We were set to  Witness the Rock/Americana Group, Madam Radar from Austin, TX. Our invitation expressed that, “The family-based quartet has built a reputation as one of Texas’ most exciting live acts, delivering high-energy performances that consistently win over new audiences.” A Hell of a statement, and one that perked our ears. Our Rock GodFather, Jason, was off to the Races in Alabama for his adorable gramma’s 100th birthday. So he tagged the Air Sign Dynamic Duo, Stacy (Gemini) and Melinoe (Aquarius) for the coverage. What an honor. What a privilege. How fucking fun! Stacy and I were debuting our Alliance on the last few remaining Gemini Sun moments. Leading into the Summer Solstice. I was giddy, and jumping up and down, with joy for these dreamy moments to be grounded into reality. So much joy, that I had my irascible, Black-Metal Mountain of a Husband diving into their Youtube “Hands”- MADAM RADAR Live at the Haute Spot.

Chad enjoyed their song “Hands.” A lovely,  powerful, soulful ballad. A song that has been described as a “reminder that through all the ups and downs in life, sometimes it is nice to slow down and just hold hands with a person you love.” I could see he was intrigued by the sound that seemingly aligned with his preference of Southern Rock Blend. I saw the wheels turning, and didn’t waste a second of opportunity to tenderly convince him to accompany me to the show, to slow down and dance to the music with the one he loves. It was only a bonus that we would be enjoying these romantic moments with our dear friends, Stacy and her Husband Dustinn. How divine that Madam Radar is a “Powerhouse Four-part Harmonies, Soaring Electric Guitars, and Chemistry built from a Brother and Sister, and their two Spouses,” and the same goes for the Rock Oracle Family. Although, none of us in Rock Oracle are Blood. We are undoubtedly, Soul. Stacy, Mooney and I, are most certainly Soul Sistas (As will be told in their Oracle Spotlight Articles), and we definitely Alchemize our Chemistry with the Diverse Soulmates we have conjoined with in Holy Matrimony. My heart was about to burst with enthusiasm from this aligned mirror.

Needless to say, we were not entirely disappointed. Of course, we had to first make our way through the intensely expensive parking situation that haunts big cities, and venues everywhere. Floated through security, and secured the Media Passes. We made our way to “Row One,” and acquired the Fruity Cocktail necessary for my dance flow at any and every show. The Cannery Hall is a fucking killer venue, one that needs your attendance! I may have initiated the inevitable Concert Hall Sticker Walls slappin’ my Rock Oracle Stickers wherever I felt fitting (with all due respect). As well, I hope they feel free to invite Rock Oracle to any shows they host, regardless of the band. While it is most certainly about the Music, the Music needs a Home to Play. And what a better environment than the Cannery Hall?! There are a few out there, but the competition for Nashville’s Top 5 is neck and neck. This spot being one of those top contenders.

As the opener, Nicky Diamonds, began and made his way through his set, Stacy felt inspired to share a piece from her heart. (Stay tuned for that Rock Oracle Exclusive!) And while I shall refrain from voicing too much about the opener to persuade you to hear that tale from another talented Muse, I will express my genuine love for his music. Particularly his final song, “Begonias.” A song expressed and written with love for his Grandmother. I loved the correlation of Flowers within the essence of Grandmothers I have been connected to over the years. My grandmother had her Roses. My Soul Dad’s Grandmother had her Peonies. And now we have Nicky Diamonds’ Grandmother and her Begonias. Another beautiful, and glorious, addition to the Bouquet of Ancestry, and the powerful women who nurtured that loving environment. A Legacy to be carried on through Art, through Music.

After tearing up in Memoriam of all the Grandmas, we enjoyed the alley way patio. I needed to warm up. Despite the Tennessee Summer Heat, the venue was crisp and Wintery. Apparently I was not moving and groovin’ enough. A challenge to later be accepted. All in all, if I had to express one blanket statement for my night? I would say it was a Night of Fun! The Company I kept, the Venue, the balanced Substances, and the Music? All while pursuing my Dreams?! Fuck, I am weak to my knees in Gratitude. Which would be the overall vibe to Madam Radar, and their Jocularity. Said with all the endearment I could ever bestow. The Quartet was obviously enjoying themselves. There did not seem to be a care in the world. Not one ounce of pressure in the air. When Madam Radar entered the stage and began their performance? Nothing else mattered outside of the fun, joy and bonding experience between the performers.

As Madam Radar began, we had our Billy Ray Cyrus meets Bon Jovi front man, Kelly Green. Our Josie and the Pussy Cats Meets Wayne’s World Country Feminine Duo, with Jace Kadle on Guitar, and Violet Lea on Bass. As well we had our Stevie Nicks Rockabilly Drummer, Kody Lee. I felt right into a modern country movie scene, or a quirky side plot to your favorite Yellowstone drama. This was definitely a night to blow off some steam with a drink in hand on the dance floor. I could see the shift in my Husband’s face as he was a bit perplexed by the band he was witnessing Live, and the band he saw perform on Youtube. Different sets, different songs, an entirely different vibe than expected. An insight into the spectrum of Madam Radar. A note to folks that not every song will sound the same.  A lesson to my picky spouse that he needs to dive deeper into the archives. Regardless of the initial shock, we continued to have a stellar time. As Dustinn (Stacy’s Husband, another Rock God Enthusiast) exclaimed, “At least we are being exposed to something new, interesting, and something we wouldn’t have stumbled upon otherwise.” Not only is that a Silver Lining when faced with something outside of your comfort zone? But a message, an insight of Love, Tolerance and Acceptance for those who are putting themselves out there to have some fucking fun, play music that puts a pep to their step, and follow their own archetypal dreams! We are all characters playing out the roles we have in our own movies. Madam Radar sure chose a fun role to portray on their Silver Screen.

Throughout the concert, I will say, I have not had that much silly, carefree fun in a long, long time. I cannot quite recall the last time I had laughed that hard, and cried just as much from the laughter. My cheeks were sore, and my belly ached. I often had to cross my legs to avoid breaking the seal. I had a night in which I felt fully Alive, and so, so deeply in Love. Madam Radar was the soundtrack to this experience. A Series of Fortunate Events that will be tattooed unto my Psyche, and permeated amongst my Heart. I will never forget the Dreadful, Endearing Smile plastered on my dearest beloved’s face when Madam Radar announced a love song, and I gushed all over him. Shattering his comfort zone of public displays of affection. Welcoming in our soulful friends to witness the moment, and chime in with laughter at the Expense of the Rigid Capricorn. Only for my Dreamy Charm to also crack my emote-less Gemini into a frenzy of giggles when she caught me lost in my own world, snuggled up on the dance floor with my Husbondi, drifting into the emotion of the music. The Romance was enough to fill my cup and mark Madam Radar as a key artist I would want selling out Weddings, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries and every Milestone of Life Events.

Madam Radar may not have been our exact, perfect cup of tea within our personal preferences of music, genres and performances. Not all music is created for the technical bureaucracy of the talent wars that elitists get their fix from. Which is not to say that Madam Radar is not full of talent. My point? I was rekindled with a realm of music that was crafted simply for the love of the game. The joy of playing. The memorable moments one finds in the Karakoke Rom-Com scenes of their life. And as Chad stated in conclusion, with a  beguiling smirk, “There’s something out there for everybody.” Which is absol-fucking-lutely right! I love seeing the somethings that manifest their way into the Rainbow of Life. I am so honored, and grateful to experience Life, Art, People, Places and all the Above outside of me. I am Blessed for the Wisdom each of these experience brings, as well. If I am to be the Oracle of Rock Oracle, and align with my Dream of being an Anthony Bourdain of the Arts, then these moments are the Hidden Gems of my Adventurous Life.

If you enjoy Dancing, Rock/Americana, quirky and unique styling and stage presence, jammin’, laughing, and memorable soundtracking? Madam Radar needs to be on your Radar!! I want to extend the most sincere thank you for being invited out to experience their soul that shines through their art. This Austin, Texas group sure has a second home here in Nashville. This is a band I would like to replace all the mediocre, tourist trash Broadway think it needs to make a quick buck. Newsflash, Life isn’t all about money, nor the artificial joy that comes from such superficial wealth. Let’s direct our Prosperity and Abundance towards Soul. Let’s remove the industrial rubbish from the Mainstream, and clean up our act. The Stage is craving Authentic Entertainment.

Live Deliciously. Love Authentically. And Always, Stay Wyrd!

I honor forgotten stories, symbolic threads, midnight thoughts, and the quiet beauty hidden within what others may overlook. Some seek understanding beneath bright lights. I have often found myself drawn toward candlelight, where mystery has a habit of speaking more clearly. Rock Oracle is one my Candlelit Corners of the World. A place of Refuge where ideas wander freely and curiosity is given room to breathe. All thanks to my lovely Leo, Jason. Here I trace patterns, unravel stories, and search for meaning beneath the surface. I do not stand here to hand down certainties, but to listen for echoes, ask questions, and see what shapes emerge from the fog. Strange Minds are Welcome here. Curiosity always has a seat at the table, and Mystery is invited to stay for supper. Welcome to my Wyrd World.

Thanks for the great Madam Radar review. I’ve been friends with the band for over 10 years. Your review perfectly encapsulates what MR is all about. I can understand your husband’s somewhat perplexed reaction, especially since his only experience with the band was via YouTube. With 4 singer songwriters it is no surprise that their live shows cover so much musical ground. Although the majority of their shows feature their own work, they also do some killer covers. For an example, search for Gregg Rolie Madam Radar Black Magic Woman on YouTube. And yes, that is 2-time Hall of Fame member and co-founder original lead singer of Santana, Gregg Rolie on keys and vocals. Not sure if you do interviews with artists, but if you do or would like more background info, contact me through my email. Bill
