Welcome My Ghouls, Demons and Fellow Wyrd Ones! I had the absolute pleasure of attending Popville’s 2nd Anniversary Party at the Covered Bridge Recording Studio, hosted by the Fabulous Nikki Forbes. Popville truly is everything Pop inside the pits of Nashville. Nashville definitely wants pop, and that was most certainly demonstrated by the killer crowd that abandoned the Broadway Chaos to join us all in celebration of this Anniversary. It is quite refreshing to have a solid event choice outside of the never- ending country music tickets being shoved down our throats in Music City.

A Backstory From Melinoe: As I sit to create this article, I contemplate exactly where to begin with this story. Which message do I ultimately seek to give? Why was it Vital for me to collaborate with Shayan, Frontman of TRIVAX? Often, lost in my never-ending search for meaning within my intuitive endeavors. I suppose I shall summarize a bit of the beginning. Starting with the Full Circle, Saturn Return Closing, personal Cycle, closure this has all spiritually manifested itself to be. I began my Anti-Christian journey, seedlings planted since childhood, and the mistrust within the Church I was raised to be devoted and faithful. The regime of my cultural lens and the nurture I received. The undertone to the Great American Nation.

Bully Packs A Punch at The Blue Room

I was back at The Blue Room again in Nashville to cover the Bully show with Jawdropped supporting on the second evening of a two-show engagement. You know you spend a lot of time at a venue when you walk up to the ticket person and they say, “Oh, it’s you again”. I laughed. Live music venues are my happy place, so I was certainly glad to be there again. This would be my third time seeing Alicia Bognanno and her band. “Bully” refers to her “inner bully” or the “inner demons” she confronts in her music and life. The name Bully also represents the initial band she fronted a decade ago but later became synonymous with Bognanno herself as the sole member.

If you’ve never heard of The Weakerthans, don’t worry, neither have most people I’ve met for the past twenty-five years. I only found out about them when a buddy of mine loaned me their debut CD, Fallow (1997), probably in early 2000, telling me I could keep it if I liked it, that he wasn’t that into it.
