Artist Review | Kingfishr

If you’ve learned anything from my handful of articles, it’s probably this: my feet may be planted firmly on American soil, but my heart has always belonged to Ireland. There’s something about the people, the stories, and the music that keeps calling me back. Supporting the fiercely talented, resilient, and endlessly authentic artists coming out of Ireland isn’t just something I enjoy, it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about. Thankfully, bands like Kingfishr make that passion ridiculously easy.

Album Review | Death Cab for Cutie | I Built You A Tower

Their mixes ranged from simple and methodical to complex and inspired, and the lyrics … well … Death Cab for Cutie has been one of my favorites for so long specifically because of their lyrics. (Ben Gibbard is a lyrical genius, and I don’t care who might try to say otherwise LOL) Their writing style has always struck a chord with me. I’ve always especially admired and connected with their use of metaphors, which only helps to create stronger visuals of their stories, and this album is no different. I Built You A Tower is a beautiful blend of complex emotions (deeply felt nostalgia). I don’t know how they always do it, but they do – and it’s magic!

The Nordic Experimental Folk Experience

I can’t recall what song played first – or which one I trulyheard first –  but I do remember when Straylight Run’s song, Existentialism on Prom Night, came on … This immense feeling of understanding and presence washed over me. Every single note, every vibration streaming through the air … it was as if I could feel the molecules shifting around me – the air around me changing as each note rang out from the speakers. I’d even go so far to say I envisioned the music in my mind’s eye, each note producing a different color, image, shape, etc. Again, only sharing my own experience here and would never aim to talk someone into doing it, but I will say – the whole experience was magical, to say the least. In the end, I felt opened up to music even more than before – more than I could have ever imagined was possible, really. My psyche changed for the better that day.

Freaky Wilderness ‘Wind Swept World’ | New Music Video Review

This Music Video will present simple to the simpletons. Those who have never ripped apart their soul, nor faced the most painful of ego deaths. The Music Video is a Message of Harmony. Of Family, of Joy, and of Play. Hellooooo Jupiter in Leoo. I love this season for us. Just as the World is seemingly falling apart, we are reminded that sometimes it is fun to tear things down. Sometimes it is fun to RAGE! In the most innocent of waves. I thoroughly enjoyed the progression of the video. The themes of the imperfect, shyly awkward, and pure evolution of the children throughout this creative process? Just phenomenal! I dive deeper into these themes in my “Music Message” series on my “Come Drink the MoonJuice” Podcast. Where I have teamed up with Rock Oracle to Bring People Together Through Music! Where my dearest Gemini, Michael of Freaky Wilderness, is also Bringing People Together Through Music. The World needs more Life. We need to reconnect to our innocence. Our playful frequency of Freedom. To Love, and to Create. To nourish that imagination within the Heart and Mind of a child. Now that is beautiful parenting at play!

The Tale of Two Air Signs

Welcome Ghouls, Demons, and Fellow Wyrd Ones!! Behold another Love Letter. Another Writer Announcement for the leg of our Lively team at Rock Oracle. Let’s give a Warm Welcome to Stacy Lowry. My dearest Stacy, it is not your mom who’s got it goin’ on, it is you! My favorite Gemini. A true gift of Mercury anointed with Venus, Jupiter, Neptune and the Sun! I have adored the development of our Sisterhood. Unlike Mooney and I? Stacy and I have not known each other as long. Our Tale is still being written to the depth of Mine and Mooney’s. In fact, at the time we initiated your Coming of Age into Rock Oracle? We just celebrated our One Year Anniversary. It doesn’t feel like that short of time. I feel like our souls have known each other for aeons. Another soul making their way home, in typical Gemini fashion. Late, but just in time! Divine Time!
